One address, every search

Save the address once, with up to three placeholders. When you open it, UtilEngine asks for each one and fills it in.

A search you run daily

Google, DuckDuckGo and YouTube searches come built in.

Two blanks, one dashboard

Plausible Stats asks for the site and the period, then opens that view.

Straight to the ticket

Type the issue number and skip the search page entirely.

Find it without the bookmarks bar

Search a bookmark by its name or keywords, keep the ones you use at the top as favorites, or skip the launcher and use the address bar.

Bookmarks in the address bar

Type “ue”, a space, then a bookmark and its query. Works for bookmarks with one placeholder or none.

Named your way

Search reads a bookmark's name and its keywords, so “bug” finds Linear Issue.

More than Chrome's site search

Chrome can already search one site from the address bar, with a single %s in the address. Smart bookmarks take it further.

Coming from Raycast or Alfred? Raycast Quicklinks take up to three arguments too, and Alfred's web searches take one. UtilEngine does the same job inside the browser, on any computer.

Bookmarks, answered

How many placeholders can a bookmark have?

Up to three. Write each one in curly braces anywhere in the address, like {Query} or {Issue}, and name it whatever you like. The launcher asks for each one by that name when you open the bookmark.

Does a bookmark open in a new tab?

Enter opens it in a new tab next to the one you're on. Shift+Enter opens it in the current tab instead.

Can I open bookmarks from the address bar?

Yes, for bookmarks with no placeholder or one. Type “ue” and a space, then the bookmark's name or a keyword and your query, and press Enter. You need to be signed in to UtilEngine.

Can I bookmark the page I am on?

Run Create Bookmark on the page and its address is already filled in. Give it a name, swap any part of the address for a placeholder if you like, and save.

Does it import my Chrome bookmarks?

No. UtilEngine bookmarks are a separate set you build in the launcher, and Chrome's bookmarks stay where they are. When you ask the AI where you saved something, it can search both.

Do bookmarks sync?

Yes. They follow you to every Chrome, Brave or Edge browser you sign in on, placeholders and keywords included. Sync holds up to 5,000 bookmarks per account.

Which bookmarks come built in?

Searches for Google, DuckDuckGo and YouTube, each with a {Query} placeholder. Edit or remove them like any other bookmark.
