Save what you already wrote
Highlight text on any page, open the launcher, and run Save Selection as Snippet. The body is filled in, you give it a name and a few keywords, and it is ready to insert anywhere. Manage Snippets is where you edit, rename, or remove them, one at a time or several at once.

Blanks that fill themselves
Some placeholders never ask. {date} and {time} insert the current date and time, {url} the page you are on, {selection} what you highlighted, and {copied} your last copy. Write {selection || copied} and the first one with a value wins.
No trigger words

What is a snippet?
A piece of text you save once and insert by name. An email sign-off, a support reply, a code block, a meeting agenda. Search it in the launcher, press Enter, and it lands in the field you were typing in.
Where can I insert snippets?
Any input, text area, or rich text editor on any page. If no field is focused, or you hold Shift, the text is copied to your clipboard instead.
How do arguments work?
Write a placeholder in braces, like {name}, and the launcher asks for it before inserting. A snippet can ask for up to three. Write {a || b} and the first placeholder with a value is used.
Which placeholders fill in on their own?
{date}, {time}, {url}, {selection}, and {copied}. There are also {tab-text} for the visible text of the page and {text:selector} to pull the text of one element.
Can I control where the cursor ends up?
Yes. Put {cursor} anywhere in the snippet and the caret lands there after inserting.
Can I turn text I already wrote into a snippet?
Yes. Highlight it, open the launcher, and run Save Selection as Snippet. If nothing is highlighted it uses your last copied text.
Do snippets sync?
Yes. Snippets follow your UtilEngine account across Chrome, Brave, Edge, and other Chromium browsers, together with your sessions, bookmarks, and AI commands.
Is there a trigger word, like typing ;sig?
No. Snippets run from the launcher, so nothing you type on a page is ever watched. Open the launcher, type the name, press Enter.
How long can a snippet be?
Up to 10,000 characters.
